Why Golden State?
The Golden State Academy seeks to promote and strengthen the speech and debate community in the San Francisco Bay Area. Students of all levels compete in interpretative, improvisational, creative and debate-based events and compete with other students from around the country. All coaches of The Golden State Academy are coaches who believe firmly in the values and skills that competitive speech and debate promotes.

Our Results:
Our results speak for themselves. Our coaches have seen kids through multiple final rounds each and every year. The Golden State Academy has won the State Championships in 2016 and 2017 as well as winning sweepstakes at the individual National Tournament of Champions in 2017. We have also won the National Overall School of Excellence in 2016, with the hopes of winning the award once again this upcoming year. We train our middle school students as if they were high schoolers, pushing them into difficult rounds at high school tournaments because we know that it will provide them with a valuable learning experience. Our coaching may be vigorous, with students being able to come for coaching up to 8 hours each week, however this does not deter our students from being extremely passionate and always striving to get into the next round up.
