Samantha Montemayor
Samantha Montemayor is a former competitor for the James Logan High School Speech and Debate team. She is currently a student at California State University, East Bay seeking to pursue her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. Her goal is to teach at the elementary school level here in the Bay Area. She graduated from California State University, Long Beach in 2014 with a B.S. in Health Sciences, emphasis in Community Health. After graduation, she taught Health to elementary school students in the Fruitvale neighborhood of Oakland, and also taught sports and art for the school’s after-school program. Samantha is dedicated to educating our multicultural and diverse Bay Area youth, while being a learner herself in a student-centered, growth-oriented environment. Samantha would like to combine her teaching experiences, camp counselor skills, and history of speech and debate, to bring mentally engaging and fun lessons to Golden State Academy. Samantha’s long-term professional goal is to pursue a Master’s of Science in Education. When Samantha isn’t working with the youth, she enjoys hiking, running, and taking care of her many cats.
