Layla Forooghi
Picture

LAYLA FOROOGHI is earning her teaching credential at San Jose State University, for middle and high school level social science. She gained her bachelor’s degree at San Jose State, earning a B.A. in Humanities and a minor in business (2015). Since graduating high school, she has reflected a love for teaching and learning, particularly in speech and debate. Layla has worked with the Leland Speech and Debate team since 2011, of which she is an alumnus (2011). Fostering strong teacher-student relationships with students is a priority for Layla. The best results come from a love of learning, and Layla attempts to instill a love for aspects of speech that can motivate each individual student. While on her team, Layla was a Vice President of Speech. She participated in Original Prose and Poetry, Dramatic Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, and Duo Interpretation. She coaches all speech events, and aids debate coaches with polishing the speaking skills of debaters.
