    Schedule

Please note that all times are in EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST).

    SPEECH VIDEO SUBMISSION SCHEDULE

Monday 4/25: LTD PREP TOPICS RELEASED   --- IT HAS BEEN RELEASED, SEE ABOVE
Impromptu quote options, & Extemp questions will all be released for both divisions. Please remember that entries WITHOUT recorded links will be dropped from the tournament past the deadline so please make sure that your recordings work.

    Tuesday 4/26 @ 3 AM EST: CLOSE OF REGISTRATION   --- MONDAY, 4/25 @MIDNIGHT PST
ALL recordings, student entries, & judge names/info will be set in stone and locked into place at that time. Please list the video link here or send to Nadia at nbudiman@tgsastaff.com by this deadline.

    SPEECH JUDGING SCHEDULE

    Wednesday 4/27 @ 8-9AM EST: Prelim Speech Rounds 1 & 2 BEGIN!   --- WEDNESDAY, 4/27 @5:00 AM PST
Pairings will be released and judge rounds will be blasted via tabroom at some point Wednesday morning. It's possible that I may get these out late Tuesday night before this time, but this Wednesday morning is my more realistic goal timeline. NOTE: All prelim speech rounds MUST be finished & turned in from ALL judges by Thursday evening at 8:00 PM EST (which gives you approximately a day and a half to finish all of your team's prelim judging obligations).

    Thursday, 4/28: Prelim Speech Rounds 1 & 2 END!   --- THURSDAY, 4/28 @5:00 PM PST
The window for judging will be CLOSED at 8:00 PM EST on this day. Incomplete rounds by judges will be treated as judge drops and immediately re-assigned so coaches PLEASE ensure that your judges fulfill their prelim obligations. I will be contacting coaches for any late judges or dropped round fines so be cognizant of this deadline. Please check in with your judges before I have to in order to ensure that they have all finished and turned in their ballots before I replace them and issue any nuisance fees (but I'm going to cross my fingers that nothing like that will have to happen).

Friday, 4/29: FINALS FOR ALL SPEECH EVENTS!!!   --- FRIDAY, 4/29 @MORNING PST UNTIL 5:00 PM PST
Finals for Speech events will be announced & ballots will be sent out to judges early Friday morning. You will have from that point until 8 PM EST on this same day to finish your final round judging obligation. My plan is to give no judge more than 1 finals round (like a typical in-person speech tournament) so your judges who are assigned to finals will have around 10 to 12 hours to finish this judging assignment. Note that the tournament will be completely finished by tonight - there will be NO ROUNDS JUDGED ON SATURDAY.

    Drop Fee

Drop fees will be the same amounts as the entry fee PLUS any fees the tournament charges us for late drops. Drop requests should be made to Victor and Nadia.

Please do not drop out last minute to avoid being charged these fees.

    JUDGE PROVISION
Please make sure you are available for the asynchronous speech judging schedule and that you won't submit your judging duties late. Details above.

Click here to complete the mandatory Cultural Competency judge training course

Signing up a judge without having a Tabroom account will result in us charging you for the set up fee.
You can do this easily on your own by going to tabroom.com. It literally takes less than a minute.

First time judging? Click here to learn how to do it! Or watch our Youtube playlist here.
There are also these training cards available that include a summary of each event's rules and comments.

Tournaments encourage judges to have a paradigm on their Tabroom account, which can be a few sentences on your preferences of debating styles, etc. See here for example. It doesn't need to be this long, but make sure to add something before you sign up. For example: "I am a parent, please speak clearly and slowly and avoid technical jargon".
