☻ Returning Student Intermediate Elementary Class ☻

@once a week on Saturdays or Sundays

Class Description and Goal:
This is an intermediate elementary course in public speaking and debate. Students who enroll in this class are expected to have taken at least 1 previous semester of speech and debate. The goal of this class is for all students to continue their educational journey in the activity and further develop their skills through platform, unprepared, and Congressional debate events.
Though the class teaches both speech and debate, this classes differs from the beginner elementary class in that it places a greater emphasis on Congressional Debate (75% Congress, 25% Speech). Throughout the semester, students will build upon their foundations and learn the following:
☻ Intermediate techniques of Congressional Debate
☻ Intermediate-level evidence research, case writing, and reading comprehension
☻ Intermediate to advanced techniques in public speaking (persuasion, logical reasoning, stage presence)
☻ Intermediate-level skills in argumentation and cross-examination
Pre-Requisites:
☻ This weekly class is designed for students who have taken at least one full semester with GSA (summer does not count).
Intermediate Class Options
Saturdays* 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM
Sundays 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM
*Saturday classes may conflict with competition dates, keep that in mind when making your class selection. Missed class for competition can be made up on another date/time or by watching recording of class of that day.
