☻ New Student Beginner Elementary Class ☻
Dates:
21 January 2023 - 30 April 2023
@once a week on Saturdays or Sundays
8 students max per class
Class Description and Goal:
This is an introductory class to public speaking and debate. The goal of this class is for all students to gain a basic understanding of the activity in a fun and positive environment. Though the class teaches both speech and debate, this class places a greater emphasis on speech than debate (75% Speech, 25% Debate) This class is designed to cover the basics of public speaking including, but not limited to:
☻ Body language, vocal variety, tone, and eye contact
☻ Speech writing, research, and memorization
☻ Basics of argumentation, cross examination, and case writing
☻ Listening and being a respectful audience member to others
Pre-Requisites:
☻ This weekly class is designed for students with little to no experience in speech and debate.
☻ This class is also open to those who have taken our summer elementary beginner camp or classes.
Beginner Educational Class Options
Saturdays 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM
(Students in this class will be encouraged to compete but it won't be required.)
Beginner Competitive Class Options
Sundays 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM
(Students in this class should attend at least one tournament in speech by the end of the semester.)
Tuition: $750

There will be no class during Spring Break (11-12 March 2023)
We will accept the first 8 students who enroll in each class and waitlist the rest until we confirm another instructor.
