☻ 4 April 2022 - 3 June 2022 ☻
ONLINE ONLY - MID SPRING START
Middle School/High School Program

elements of competitive speech and debate

Missed on our other spring programs? Would like to get your child started on speech and debate? Please join our once a week program that will introduce students to the elements of competitive speech and debate. Given the brevity of this program, this is a crash course into the basic skills students will need to give speeches with limited prep. This program will introduce students to impromptu speaking and spar debate where students will learn to structure speeches and arguments, how to properly use their voice to convey their thoughts and feelings, facial expressions, body language, how to analyze people's arguments via note taking and proper identification of argument structure, how to respond to arguments in an organized and clear/logical manner, and many more skills. - GRADES 4-12

If students are interested in then taking these skills and trying it out in a competition, we encourage students to enroll in the NOF tournament at the end of the term where they can try their luck against students from across the country in these events.
