FALL 2020

☻ 19 September 2020 - 20 December 2020 ☻
Elementary School Program
GRADES 3-5

OPEN TO STUDENTS OF ANY STATES
TIMES ARE CONDUCTED IN PDT
Attention Students and Parents:

Out of precaution for everyone's health during this on going pandemic, we have made the decision to continue holding our programs online as opposed to working in person and risking exposing anyone to COVID-19. We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause but we assure you that our online programming will be as great or even better than what we offer in person!

Despite being new to the online format, we learned a lot from the last 5 months of doing online instruction. We feel that while this year may present new challenges, we will be able to deliver the same or better results!

If the situation improves during the year, we may make some changes to the spring but we intend on staying online for instruction. Thank you for understanding.

Beginner

This is an introductory class to public speaking and debate. The goal of this class is for all students to gain a basic understanding of the activity in a fun and positive environment. Though the class teaches both speech and debate, this class places a greater emphasis on speech than debate. This class is designed assuming that the student has not taken any speech and debate classes before and will cover the basics of public speaking.

Intermediate

This is an intermediate elementary course in public speaking and debate. Students who enroll in this class are expected to have taken at least 1 previous semester of speech and debate. This is an advanced elementary course in public speaking and debate. Students who enroll in this class are expected to have taken at least 2 prior semesters (1 academic year) of speech and debate. The goal of this class is for all students to continue building upon their skills in speech and debate and further advance in platform, unprepared, and debate events in preparation for competitive middle school speech and debate classes.
This class teaches both speech and debate and places an equal emphasis on both activities (50% Speech, 50% Debate). At this stage, students enrolling in this class should have solid foundations in both event types and are expected to perform at an advanced, competition-quality level.
