NEW BEGINNER COMPETITIVE SPEECH AND DEBATE
We want our child to compete. Our child will be competing for the academy and/or their school team. The goal is to get students to actively compete in this activity during the year to build a passion for this activity in the long run. My child may or may not have experience. - GRADES 6-12
Class Descriptions:
☻Daily guided lectures for their respective speech and events.
☻NSDA & CHSSA approved speech events will be offered: Impromptu and Oratorical Interpretation
☻Students will get several opportunities to perform and debate at competitions during the semester. These will be primarily online with some in person if and when it is permissible.
☻Students will learn via lectures and competitions the formats of Lincoln Douglas for the first half before finishing the semester doing Public Forum
Pre-Requisites:
Note: We will accept the first 8 students who enroll in each class and wait listing the rest until we confirm another instructor for in person classes.
Online classes we will accept as many students as we have coaches to maintain an 8:1 student to teacher ratio
Tuition:
$2095 for twice-a-week online classes
$2495 for twice-a-week in-person classes

- This class is designed for students with little to no experience in speech, but who are preparing to compete at tournaments during the school year.
- Students must be able to participate at least one competition/scrimmage per event taught (One in Impromptu and one in Oratorical Interpretation, one for Lincoln Douglas and One for Public Forum).
- Failure to do so means we ask you to join the educational class the following semester or you repeat the beginner course until you have completed the participation requirements.
