    JUDGES REQUIREMENTS
We expect that all judges will pay attention in the debates they are judging and will work to provide a fair decision based on the criteria they outline in their judge philosophies.

We also expect judges to behave in a way that is appropriate in a middle school/high school environment. Any judges that exhibit behavior inconsistent with this expectation can and will be removed from the tournament by the tournament director at his discretion. The financial costs of missed rounds will be passed on to the school that entered the judge which will then be invoiced to the judge.

Unless there is a violation of the Conduct policy by the judge or the team(s) in the debate, the tab room views the judge’s decision regarding all arguments made in the debates as final. If the tabroom determines that a judge or the team(s) violates a Conduct policy expectation, the tabroom may alter the decision in a way that it feels is fairest for the debaters involved.

Classrooms.cloud uses Zoom. Rounds will be recorded in case of a conduct issues but will otherwise be deleted at the conclusion of the tournament. No rounds will be published online.

    Entry Price

LD event and parent is judging $80
LD and NOT providing a judge $190

PF/Policy and parent is judging $75
    PF/Policy and NOT providing a judge $185

Each person in a PF/Policy/Duo team would be responsible of providing their own judge, so one PF/Policy/Duo team would need to either provide two judges, both pay the judge fee, or one of each option.

Registration will not be complete until payment is received.

NOTE: We will charge set up fees if we have to create tabroom.com accounts for judges. It is recommended you do so on your own.

    JUDGE PROVISION
Signing up a judge without having a Tabroom account will result in us charging you for the set up fee. You can do this easily on your own by going to tabroom.com. It takes two minutes.

First time judging? Click here to learn how to do it! Or watch our Youtube playlist here.

Judges are encouraged to add a paradigm on their Tabroom account, which can be a few sentences on your preferences of debating styles, etc. See here for example (it doesn't need to be this long, but make sure to add something before you sign up). Failure to do this will result in your competitor being removed by the tournament organizers.
