    • The tournament does NOT offer cross-entry for debate events. Students may enter ONE debate event. Students entering a debate event may NOT cross-enter between speech and debate.
    • The tournament allows double-entry in up to THREE speech events. However, the tournament is NOT responsible for students making it to their rounds on time and pairings will not consider double entry. Use caution when entering students in more than 2 events.

    DIVISION
The Spooktacular Forensics Fest is an OPEN MIDDLE SCHOOL competition in all events. Coaches must only enter students who are competing at the middle school level in their events. Any student competitors found in violation of this will be immediately disqualified from the competition.

    EVENT RULES
    • We will adhere to NSDA rules (section 2 of the High School Manual) for all national circuit/NSDA events: this includes Lincoln Douglas, Public Forum, DI, Duo, HI, Info, EXT, OO, and STO.
    • We will be following CHSSA rules & regulations for all California state events which include Declamation (previously Oratorical Interp).
    • If there are questions or concerns that arise regarding the rules during rounds, please have a coach submit the form to the Protest Committee within ninety (90) minutes of the conclusion of the round, or prior to the start of the next round - whichever comes first.

    JUDGING
Included in the entry fee is coverage for judging. Institutions are NOT required to provide judges. The judges we provide will be qualified James Logan High School speech and debate competitors, along with other high school volunteers provided by institutions.

    BREAKS

Debate - Elimination rounds will NOT be held for debate events (Public Forum and Lincoln Douglas).

    AWARDS
