Dear competitors,

You are invited to the FTY Spring Invitational for middle schoolers on April 19th! This tournament will be online with no judges required. We want to provide an opportunity for middle schoolers with limited experience to dip their toes in the water, so any experience is welcome!

Rules
The format consists of the traditional impromptu rules, consisting of 7 minutes of combined speech and preparation time. No internet searches or use of generative AI is allowed throughout the duration of each round. The tournament will be run on Zoom, with participants separated into breakout rooms with their respective judges.

Round 2: technology and innovation
Round 3: habits and routines

Awards
Competitors will receive cash prizes starting at $25, $15, and $10 for the top three as a base; we will augment these amounts based on our entries.

Entry fee $25

No need to provide judges at this tournament, but please only sign up if you are certain that you will be able to attend!
Registration will not be complete until payment is received.

Schedule

Note: No team is required to provide judges for this tournament. The judging obligation will be handled by the tournament organizers.

Tentative Tournament Schedule:
Round 1: 10 am pst
Round 2: 12 pm pst
Round 3: 3 pm pst
Elim 1: 5 pm pst
Elim 2 (if necessary): 7 pm pst

Drop Fee

Drop fees will be the same amounts as the entry fee PLUS any fees the tournament charges us for late drops. Drop requests should be made to Victor and Nadia.

Please do not drop out last minute to avoid being charged these fees.
