In this class students will get a chance to learn to develop their public speaking skills by learning about basic techniques and particular speech formats. Students will get a chance at impromptu speaking and story telling. This along with various speech exercises will allow students to strengthen their ability to speak and express themselves. Students will also get a chance to learn to debate via the spar argumentation format. Students will learn the difference between simply arguing and presenting a well structured argument. Students will learn about the various aspects of persuasion that orators and debaters require to convince their audience. Students will culminate the class with some fun debate exercises where students will test their wit and speaking skills with their peers.

Keep in mind that this class will not make you eligible for advancement to our weekend program during the school year due to a difference in curriculum.  If you are a returning student from our weekend classes, you could take this class but it won't help you advance through our weekend program during the fall. This meant to be an immersion/crash course.
