2018 Middle School Speech & Debate Fall Classic
November 10, 2018 @ City College of San Francisco, Ocean Campus
The tournament will be located at the City College of San Francisco, Ocean Campus (50 Phelan Ave, San Francisco, CA 94112). The tournament will be primarily located out of Cloud Hall & Science Hall. Daily Parking Permits are required to park on campus. There are lots on Phelan Ave across from Riordan High School.
The tournament offers 3 rounds of debate (Public Forum or Lincoln-Douglas), 3 rounds of Congress, and 3 rounds of Impromptu to students in the 6th through 8th grades. Students may enter debate and individual events. No special accommodations will be made for individual events double entry students and rounds will not be held up to accommodate double entry.
Registration deadline and drops
Drop/Change deadline for full refund is November 5 11:59 PM. If you drop after this day, you will lose your entry fee and may accumulate additional fee's. See bottom.**
Single event drops after the deadline will result in a $50 fine per dropped event.
Regarding Team Events: In the event that one partner drops, that partner will be required to pay the full registration fee for themselves in addition to a $100 fee to help cover their partner.***
* If you sign up a judge, drops will incur an additional $100 fee. Please understand that it extremely difficult to find last minute judges, if any are available at all.
** We do not guarantee any exceptions, emergency or otherwise. Please plan accordingly.
*** Parents with partners must coordinate with each other to ensure that they can register for a tournament. Parents may ask firstname.lastname@example.org, the team's coach, Victor Rivas Umana, or Nathan Leal for help and contact info but understand that the obligation is ultimately with the parent. If you do not feel comfortable with the teammate, please inform us so we can find a solution for future tournaments.
Independent and academy entries are permitted, if there is an adult supervisor present at the tournament at all times. All public and private school entries are permitted.

Saturday,November 10th (NOTE this is the schedule from last year, we expect it to be the same, PLEASE do check the email for the final schedule though as things can change)
8:00 am PF and LD student must be on campus Speech kid check in time will be determined by final schedule but most likely we will ask for them to be dropped off at 12pm.
6-6:30-Awards with check out time starting after that.
NOTE: Tournaments never run on time, please give yourself an hour after the scheduled time to start and end for you to determine what commitment of time this will take. Students will most likely not be home until after 7 or so.
